Out of the thousand images I have in my head that I haven't put on paper yet, I finally decided to pull this one out.

I had a conversation with my homeboy recently about how Freddy could be the scariest and most f**ked up of all the horror icons....and reasons why he wasn't (at least to us).

There's so much potential with his character that I don't think has been taken full advantage of yet (outside the first film of course). I mean he's a self mutilating, child molesting dream demon with knives for fingers and burnt skin for christ sake. Yet every film I seen him in I'm not the least bit scared or uneasy watching it because they tend to focus on the comedy more so than anything else. Englund does a phenomenal job, but I think they need to give him darker material to work with to make these films scary again.

So whenever I draw him I try to make the most vile, intense and demonic Freddy I can just for my own satisfaction. Another here ---> [link] I could go on and on how I'd approach the character, and things I would and wouldn't do to make him more scary again, but let me stop poppin' off.

If you look closely at the "children/victims" coming out from his body you will see the masks of Jason and Ghostface (from Scream). I decided to put them in there in the end just for giggles. I know I'll go detail this a bit more so keep an eye out for small updates.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to work on the character or the comic series in some fashion at some point in my career. Even tho's he's not a top fav of mine horror-wise, he's a fun draw.
